Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Trudeau Garlic PressCustomer Review: Cadillac of Garlic Presses Summary: 5 StarsWe have had this press for 4 months now, and we are completely satisfied. The press has large and comfortable handles, and a very solid feel. Long handles give you plenty of leverage.
The 'hopper' is large enough to take big cloves or a few small cloves - and it self-cleaning (to a point) with stiff rubber 'fingers' that clean out the press holes.
Customer Review: Worked well, until it broke Summary: 1 StarsI used this for about two months before it broke (the pin holding the two arms together snapped), while trying to mince two small cloves. I bought it based on the Cooks Illustrated review, and it seemed to work really well - I loved the ability to reverse the arms and push out any stuck pieces of garlic.
Customer Review: The best garlic press so far! Summary: 5 StarsI love the fact that I do not need to touch the garlic at all, as this press cleans out by itself with the black side.
Ergonomic and lots of space for more than one clove at a time.
Love this press!
Customer Review: The best garlic press ever! Summary: 5 StarsI am a garlic freak - use minced garlic in almost all the meals I prepare. So why have I spent so many years using crappy garlic presses? I've tried them all and until the Trudeau model, I never realized what I've been missing. Don't laugh, but I brought the Trudeau to a "girls night out" dinner a few weeks back to show my gal pals.
Like the other reviews say, this is one powerful tool. I feel like Superwoman when I use it. You can press multiple cloves at one time, and can also mince garlic without peeling. (I prefer not to as the unpeeled minced garlic looks an unappetizing green.)
Haven't had any problems with cleanup. The mashed-up garlic residue cleans up pretty easily. There's only one negative thing I can say about the press - after many washings, the inside of the metal cage that holds the garlic is looking a little discolored.
Customer Review: Not as functional... Summary: 3 StarsTrudeau garlic press is not as functional as I expected. I was replacing an OXO press. The Trudeau is heavier and less well-balanced to hold than the OXO. I found pressing garlic required more effort and hand strength. Also the Trudeau didn't self-clean easily.
