My expensive european-made garlic press recently pressed a piece of its stainless-steel screen right into my meatballs. So, it was time for a new one. What a pleasant surprise to get this press and find that it is rated the America's Test Kitchen [Cook's Illustrated Magazine] Best Buy rating--and $25 less than replacing my old one. Upgraded to this from a grocery store model. Unlike a lot of presses, the mashing part of this goes down all the way to the grating area. As a result, the output volume from this press is massive -- only a very thin membrane is left from each press. Seems to work well with unpeeled cloves as well. We have had this press for 4 months now, and we are completely satisfied. The press has large and comfortable handles, and a very solid feel. Long handles give you plenty of leverage.
The 'hopper' is large enough to take big cloves or a few small cloves - and it self-cleaning (to a point) with stiff rubber 'fingers' that clean out the press holes.

This is a heavy and solid garlic press. It's weight makes it comfortable to use and the stainless steel makes it easy to clean. The rubber grips also make it easy to handle. It's hard for such a simple product to impress me. However, this did the job. It was a well thought out and well constructed product. I have used this garlic press a couple of times now, and it works great! The nicest part about it is that it actually cleans well. It seems to be very sturdy and you can easily fit three cloves into it at once. If I were really trying to come up with a complaint, the best I can do is that it is heavier than expected. Great product for the price.
