Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Trudeau 9-Inch Silicone Spatula, Yellow

Customer Review: Nice for cooking with, not quite all-purpose
Summary: 4 Stars

This spatula has plenty of reviews already but I have something to add: this spatula is very nice to use on the stovetop, but I find it too stiff to use for getting batter off the sides of a bowl. For that purpose, I'd pick a spatula with a larger and more flexible head. (This one measures 2.5 vertical inches from the base of the head to the pointy end.) But for stovetop use this one is very nice, the right size, well balanced, and great seamless construction. I'm glad I bought it.

Customer Review: This spatula is a little bit smaller than I imagined it would be
Summary: 4 Stars

This spatula is a little bit smaller than I imagined it would be. I think I'm going to buy a slightly bigger one to be my 'main spatula'. I haven't used it yet but like the concept of it all being one solid piece so you don't have to worry about food and germs getting between the handle and the silicone head. It's a solid piece of equipment that doesn't look like it'll need replacing anytime soon.

Customer Review: Cute spatula
Summary: 4 Stars

My only issue with this one is the weird shape. I like the silicone, works great, fits in most jars, but it has that weird little head. Wish they would make one that was more normal shaped. I do like the color. Also would like one in orange.

Customer Review: Great for stirring
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great product for stirring anything hot and the corner works well to scrape pan bottom edges.

The only reason I haven't given it five stars is that I feel the handle could be stiffer.

Customer Review: The purpose of this spatula truly does elude me
Summary: 1 Stars

This is rather a silly spatula. The reason it's silly is because it is a rather small spatula, with an odd pointy tip, a very tiny paddle, and thus a very short paddle edge for actual scraping. This makes it pretty much useless for various spatula-enabled tasks such as, say, scraping batter out of a mixing bowl.

I may be missing some incredibly obvious use for this weird little spatula -- I suppose the pointy tip might be useful for scraping out the bottoms of mayonnaise jars, but I do wonder how many people in this world go through so much mayonnaise that they would need an item like this on a regular basis.

The reason I got this spatula in the first place was because it was inexpensive and has single-piece silicone construction (no places for gunk to collect), but there are much better single-piece silicone spatulas out there -- for instance, ones that are shaped like normal spatulas, with a paddle big enough to get some actual spatula work done.

What better way to say "I love you," than with the gift of another spatula? Don't get this one.
